For over 35 years Pastor Philip Parsons and his wife Sue have led Longton Elim
Church. Philip comes from Devon and Sue from Cardiff Wales. They have two children and
five grandchildren.
Philip is the son of Christian parents and has a testimony of deliverance from
near-death as a little child. He was converted at the age of 15 years and immediately
dedicated himself to serving God in his local church. At the age of 20 he obeyed the call of
God to enter full-time ministry.
Following graduation from Elim Bible College he was ordained by the Elim
Pentecostal Church and pastored churches in Buckinghamshire and Hampshire before moving to Longton,
Stoke-on-Trent.
During the 35 years Philip has been at Longton, the church has had a new
building and a major extension to it. Two plots of land have also been purchased. The
congregation has grown into a lively fellowship of some 200 people.
Philip has preached in many states of U.S.A. and in Ireland and
India.
